WOW WOW WOW ! How all our lives have changed over the past few weeks. One minute we are watching the news about what's going on in the world, then just like that, it's here (coronavirus) ...now schools are closed, shops, pubs and the list goes on.
There is so much out there on social media, radio and TV. It is so overwhelming. I don't know about you, but I just have to watch. I have to know! But watching the news and going on social media all the time, well let's face it, it's just not good for our state of mind, It consumes us. Don't get me wrong, we absolutely need to know, but not a hundred times a day! Take a break from it sometimes.
So anyway, where I'm going with this, is that I have been thinking...should I stop posting on FB and Insta about candles, stars, cushions etc? My first thought was that I probably should. I mean it's just stuff at the end of the day, there is so much going on in the world, that all this other stuff, well, it's all just a a bit insignificant .
But actually, on further reflection, I have decided YES I am going to carry on, no doubt it will be less, but I need a distraction, and I'm sure you do too. I love all my homey bits and bobs, and so do many of you. So carry on I will !
We've just had Mother's Day at the weekend, which was a very different occasion to the norm, but I helped people who were in self isolation, and left gifts on their mum's doorstep. They were so grateful that I was able to do that for them.
So with that in mind, if I can drop off a candle, some jewellery, cushions or even a gift card, because it's your sister's birthday, or maybe you want to thank someone, or maybe you just need a treat! Then great, I can absolutely do that! I mean come on, don't we all love receiving a little pressie sometimes??? I sure do... It makes us smile and lift our spirits !
We are not on lockdown, yet, so if I can still go out in my car and literally drop something on a door step, then I will. Hopefully It will make someones day, especially if they are in isolation.
I have lots of cushions, vases and chopping boards arriving soon, so there will be lots of lovely new things to have a look at. I don't know about you, but by the time our life starts to resemble some sort of normal again, I would have totally re-decorated the house, new furniture and, no doubt, new wardrobe ...all in my head of course! And my house will never be as clean again! FACT!
So, for now, lets keep our distance, wash our hands, and look after each other the best we can.
We can do this !
